February EOM - Game Quality Going Up

Very few illegal moves, no accidental stalemates in which one side has double amount of pieces, no scholars mate despite some attempts ... indeed very decent chess characterized the February edition of the EOM played on Saturday 27th. This time all players, deservedly, got a medal. In group C a double round robin was played among four players. With 4 points Emily claimed 1st prize followed by Ilio, who forgetting about the clock lost a game or two, with 3 points. Caissa Students Successful in HK Juniors Inter-School - Discovery College Lower Primary Wins 2nd Pri

Sunday 21 February a total of 56 school teams, spread out over Lower and Primary School sections, participated in the HKJCC inter-school event. End of Month Jan 2016 - Strong Performance of All Caissa Students

It is the time of the year that some official tournaments are coming nearby, like the inter-school events end of February. Great to see that the sparring of our students in the January EOM is coming as close as possible to the "real thing". On Saturday 30 January in Discovery Bay we had 12 players divided in 3 groups of 4 player. In Group C (Stepping Stones 2 - Step 1 level. We had two players who never played a match before - and alas, they ended 2nd and 1st place! Noah won all his games and Misha with 1.5 points secured 2nd place medal. Great start!
