Camps at Caissa

Camps are intensive courses (normally 5 days, Monday to Friday, 3 hours a day), that we run apart from the regular group lessons. Camps are run in the morning and/or early afternoon during school vacation seasons (Summer holidays, Easter break, Autumn break, etc.). The purpose of the camps is to transfer as much knowledge as possible without compromising a playful and fun atmosphere.

The classes are held in our Discovery Bay Centre, North Plaza, Office Block 2, Lower Ground, Unit 13 or in our Sheung Wan Centre in 19 Jervois Street.

Every day is divided into 3 different sessions of around 1 hour each: instruction on strategy and tactics, workbook assignments, over the board play and game analysis.

Between sessions there will be a snack break. Children will be offered kids snacks in individual packs/pieces and can also bring their own snacks. Water is available but please bring water bottles to refill.

Parents-caregivers will only be allowed in the club to drop off the kids and to pick them up. A visit in the middle of the camp (to bring food or drinks, for example) is completely fine, but only the coaches and students should stay in the club during the classes.

A participant who is currently, or had been in the past, a Caissa student should bring their latest Step book. Students who are new to Caissa we will be given their own workbook after a short assessment of their theoretical and practical skills.

The student ratio is 1 coach for maximum 6 students. When over 6 students, there will be two coaches, and the total group will never be larger than 12 students.

At the end of the camp, student will receive a certificate showing the level they have achieved in terms of the Step Method.
