  1. The tournament will be played over 7 rounds with the following age categories: Under 8 (born 2018 and later), Under 10 (born in 2016 or 2017), Under 12 (born in 2014 or 2015) and Under 18 (born from 2008 to 2013).

 

  • Registration: 9.00-9.45am

  • Opening: 9.45-10am

  • Round 1: 10am

  • Round 2: 10.45am

  • Round 3: 11.30am

  • Lunch: until 1pm

  • Round 4: 1pm

  • Round 5: 1.45pm

  • Round 6: 2.30pm

  • Round 7: 3.15pm

  • Prize Giving: 4.15pm/4.30pm

 

2.    The tournament will be played according to the FIDE ‘Laws of Chess’, Rapid play.

​

3.    The tournament is NOT rated and is open to ALL students in Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area who know the rules of chess. 

​

4.    As this is a scholastic event, all players are requested to wear their school uniforms.

​

5.   The Competition System will be Swiss System, with 7 rounds. Pairings will be done by computer system, Swiss Manager.

​

6.   Time control: players will have 15 minutes per game, no increment.

​

7.    Players who default on a game without any notification to the Arbiter won't be paired in future rounds.

​

8.    Recording of moves is not mandatory, but scoresheets will be available.

​

9.    Mobile phones should be switched off in the playing hall, except with arbiter’s permission.

​

10.   Tie-breaks:

  1.     Direct Encounter

  2.     Medium Bucholz

  3.     Total Bucholz

  4.     Sonneborn-Berger

  5.     Armageddon game (White 5 minutes, Black 4, no increment, White must win)

 

11.   Catering services for simple food items will be available for purchase.

12.   Prizes:

  • Individual: trophies for the Top 6 players and Best Girl in each category (if less than 20 players in an age group there will be 3 trophies)

  • School:

    • Trophies for the Top 5 schools in each age category (adding the scores of the best 4 players of each school

    • Overall Champion trophy: Dr. R. Lister Cup for the school with the best total score (accumulated 4 best players in each age category). This cup can be kept for 1 year. The winning school name will be engraved.

 

13. Fees:

  • Regular Registration – 450 HKD

  • Caissa Student – 350 HKD

  • Malvern Student – 350 HKD 

 

14. Registration Deadline: 23 February 2026. After this date registrations will be put on the waiting list and play cannot be guaranteed.

2. 参赛资格：
比赛对象为香港及大湾区的学生。由于此为校际比赛，所有参赛者须穿着校服参赛。

​

3. 年龄组别：

  • 8岁以下组别（2018年或之后出生）

  • 10岁以下组别（2016年及2017年出生）

  • 12岁以下组别（2014年及2015年出生）

  • 18岁以下组别（2008年至2013年出生）

​​

4. 赛制：
比赛采用FIDE规则，以快棋形式进行，每位选手每局15分钟，每步棋加0秒钟。

​

5. 餐饮安排：
小卖部将在比赛期间开放。

​

6. 奖项：

  • 个人奖项：

    各年龄组别的前6名和最佳女选手将获颁奖杯（若组别内参赛人数少于20人，则只设3个奖杯）。

  • 校际奖项：

    每个年龄组别内的前5名学校将获颁奖杯（计算各年龄组别内最佳4名选手的成绩）。

  • 总冠军奖杯：

    Dr. Lister杯将颁发给累积分数最高的学校（计算各年龄组别成绩最佳4名选手，4个组别共16位选手的分数总和）。学校可保留Dr. R. Lister杯一年，奖杯上将刻上获奖学校名称。

​

7. 报名截止日期：
2026年2月23日，逾期报名者将列入候补名单，且未必能保证参赛资格。

 

8. 报名费（港币）：

  • 一般参赛者：450元 

  • Caissa学生（包括团体班、网络课程、学校课程、私人课程）：350元

  • 香港墨尔文国际学校学生：350元
