Muhammad Gunawan Wibisono Wins Caissa Autumn Standard

The last two rounds of the Caissa Standard (60m0s) FIDE rated U1800 were played on 5 October 2025.

Muhammad who in round 5 was paired against Caissa CTP youth Joey arrived 2 minutes before the default time of 30 minutes, but it seemed to bother him little in the battle of the 4-points players. Joey found himself entangled in a strong queen-supported kingside attack he couldn't fence off.

The players with 3 points, on board 2 Lok Sum against Aravind, ended in a win for Lok Sum who managed to convert a tense position into a decisive endgame advantage. On board 4 Caissa student Kainos grasped the initiative from the start against Shun Wang and on board 5 Yuenjin with 3 points made a statement of being an upcoming chess force, winning the game against WCM Hoi Ting.

In the last round 6 it was up to youth talent Chi Ngo to stop Muhammad, but Muhammad again hammered on his opponent's kingside with enough force and persistence that lead to a win. And a 100% win score!

Joey did good (rating) business by winning against Lok Sum in a pawn-up end game. Kainos and Yuanjin overcame their fear of losing, and missed out the joy of wining, and didn't reap the value of learning and growing as a chess player, by agreeing to a draw within 10 minutes.
