For the second leg of the Winter Cycle, the action moved to our Discovery Bay Center. Traditionally, we always have somewhat less players making it all the way over there, but now many people were also traveling for Chinese New Year. Blitz is fast paced chess. Not all chess players have the ability to handle their nerves in constant timetrouble while even fewer chess players are brave enough to even consider the only faster form: lightning chess. On 15 February, 27 fast chess enthusiasts gathered in our Sheung Wan center to fight out who could call themselves the CNY Caissa Blitz Champion 2026 after seven double rounds (14 games against 7 opponents).
