For the second leg of the Winter Cycle, the action moved to our Discovery Bay Center. Traditionally, we always have somewhat less players making it all the way over there, but now many people were also traveling for Chinese New Year.
The result was a smaller and cozy tournament, but no less fun or excitement!
In the C/D group, Josh Au didn't hand out any gifts and raced to a perfect 5/5. Lorenzo Beebe and Alston Liao followed in second and third place with 3.5/5 each. No less than 6 players shared the fourth place with 3/5, in this batch we also find the D-group medal winners: Ashton Tong, Joshua Law, Elliot Liu and Emilia Purhonen.
Congratulation to all the winners!
In the A/B group, there was no stopping Andy Cai. Following in the footsteps of Bloomberg Chan in the first leg of the Winter Cycle, he scored a perfect 5/5. With that, Andy took the B-group first place medal home.
Lolly Chen only had to surrender to Andy and finished in a well deserved overall second place with 4/5. She has come close to winning the tournament a few times now, but she will certainly be happy to have taken the first place medal for the A-group home.
EOM regulars Spencer Sun, Christian Chan and Nemo Chen completed the top 5, whily Yuki Ying claimed the second place in the B-group with 3/5 and an overall sixth place.
