Discovery College After School

With the establishment of Caissa Hong Kong Chess Club in Discovery Bay in 2012, the relationship with Discovery College was quickly established. 
 
Discovery College since then has become increasingly successful in inter-school team tournaments. Discovery College students also became prize contender in personal tournaments.
 
In both HKJCC and HKCFL national inter-school tournaments as well as personal National Championships the Discovery College Primary teams and students have conquered various National Champion titles.

 

Our training focuses on bringing children, whom mostly haven't played chess in any tournament format before, comfortably to play in individual and team tournaments. All our students can join our once per month "End of Month" tournament which is a controlled competition in which players of equal strength play for medals and trophies and learn how to play with a chess clock and time their thinking. 

We will not meet on Fridays 4pm at school, but we will hold a special class only for DC students at our chess center in North Plaza (5 minute walk from DC) on Fridays from 4-5pm.

Schedule for Term 2 in 2024 is as follows:

• Apr: 12, 19, 26 

• May: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31

• Jun: 7, 14, 21
