FM Daniel Lam Wins Caissa Spring Blitz 2021
After the Caissa organized FIDE rated OTB Rapid event at Zetland and the FIDE rated OTB Standard Spring League, the Caissa Spring Blitz held on 6 June was for now the last of the FIDE rated OTB event in Hong Kong.
The blitz event, 5m3s over 9 rounds Swiss, attracted 38 players. FM Daniel Lam, the highest rated player at the event, translated this in overwhelming firepower and with 8.5 points he claimed the Champion title, 1.5 points away from 2nd Place, good-old youth talent Wing Ki. The 3rd Place, also with 7 points like Wing Ki, went by tie-break to Niilo, who keeps year round on grossing trophies and other prizes.

Because Niilo had ended 3rd and won an Open prize he could not collect the Best U16 trophy which went to Li Shing Hei with a good 6 points results.
Boris Chan, another frequent and continuous prize winner, also ended with 6 points and got Best U12 trophy.
The Best U8 trophy went to Brayden Tsui with 4 points.
